DISSOLVED AIR FLOTATION ( DAF ) SYSTEM AT IAO WATER TREATMENT PLANT

The purpose of this project is to design and construct a new 2 , 500 gallons per minute ( GPM ) Dissolved Air Flotation ( DAF ) system at the Iao Water Treatment Plant . In addition , the project requires provision of a small modular DAF unit ( 40 to 200 GPM capacity ) to serve as a pilot plant . 6 . 2 Contractor Responsible for The Following : 6 . 2 . 1 Final design and engineering submittals , stamped by a licensed professional engineer , submitted and approved by the County of Maui , Hawaii Department of Health , Safe Drinking Water Branch . 6 . 2 . 2 Equipment procurement , fabrication , and delivery . 6 . 2 . 3 Site civil , mechanical , electrical , and structural work required for installation . 6 . 2 . 4 Integration of controls and instrumentation into the Owner ’ s SCADA system . 6 . 2 . 5 Start - up , commissioning , operator training , and performance testing . 6 . 3 Specific Work Requested 6 . 3 . 1 Pre - Design & Permitting : Basis of Design Report , Pilot Study Plan ( submitted to DOH SDWB ), permit support documents 6 . 3 . 2 Engineering & Submittals : P & IDs , hydraulic profiles , electrical single line diagrams , structural / foundation plans , and control system integration . 6 . 3 . 3 Construction & Installation : Site civil work , mechanical / electrical installation of DAF system , SCADA integration 6 . 3 . 4 Pilot Testing & Regulatory Coordination : Conduct pilot study , submit data and final report to DOH SDWB 6 . 3 . 5 Startup & Training : Factory Acceptance Testing ( FAT ), Site Acceptance Testing ( SAT ), operator training sessions , O & M manuals 6 . 3 . 6 Final as - built documentation ( drawings , network diagrams , software configurations )
