Description
Description | Energy Queensland Limited (EQL) will be seeking proposals for Distribution Switchgear (Underground) via SAP Ariba in mid-February. Background and Scope: Energy Queensland has an ongoing requirement for Secondary Distribution Switchgear (11 kV, 22 kV and 33 kV Ring Main Units). These assets are deployed across the Ergon and Energex distribution networks in both indoor and outdoor environments, supporting simple standalone switch/fuse applications as well as more complex installations such as meshed network configurations, customer connections with embedded generation, and zone substation interfaces. The existing fleet is predominantly insulated with SF6, a gas with a high environmental impact. For this sourcing event, Energy Queensland is seeking proposals for both SF6 insulated equipment and proven alternative insulating mediums. This approach supports a long-term transition away from SF6 to reduce environmental impacts and proactively prepare for potential future Australian regulatory changes aligned with international developments (e.g., the EU F Gas Regulation 2024/573). An open RFT is planned for release in mid-February 2026 via SAP Ariba, with an eight-week response period. Evaluation against predefined criteria and weightings will be completed by September 2026, followed by negotiation, recommendation, and contract award by December 2026. The new contract/s will commence 1 March 2027. Tenderers who wish to submit a response need to be registered as a Supplier on SAP Ariba. Tenderers who are not already registered in Energy Queensland’s realm in SAP Ariba will be required to register their interest by sending an email to the Contact Officer, kylie.reynolds@energyq.com.au. The email subject should contain the event title ‘Distribution Switchgear (Underground)’ and in the email please provide the following information: Business legal entity name (as displayed in the ABN lookup) ABN Registered business street address Contact name Note: the contact person needs to be someone within the business that has authority to provide financial data (such as bank account details). Other contacts/users can be added by this authorised Contact once registration is completed. Contact phone number Contact email address Once the event has been published, Tenderers will receive an email to access the EQL SAP Ariba realm via a link contained in the email notification. Please note this link will expire within 24 hours. Tenderers must accept the Prerequisite Bidder Agreement under the ‘Review and Accept Prerequisites’ tab to ensure all system generated notifications are received. This includes, but is not limited to, Content updates and changes to Event Timing. 5. If the Tenderer elects to submit a response, they must do so using SAP Ariba only. Submissions provided via email or VendorPanel will not be considered for evaluation. Tenderers are encouraged to read all relevant SAP Ariba documentation located at https://www.energyq.com.au/suppliers. All queries are to be directed to kylie.reynolds@energyq.com.au |
