A . Purpose / Project Overview The DeKalb County School District ( DCSD ) seeks qualified contractors to provide district - wide , on - demand tree cutting , trimming , removal , stump grinding , debris hauling , and related services at all DCSD facilities . The intent of this contract is to maintain safe , accessible , and aesthetically appropriate school campuses in support of DCSD ’ s mission of providing a safe learning environment . Awarded bidder shall provide devices and services in accordance with the specifications , requirements and terms and conditions stated herein . B . Project Scope of Work The DeKalb County School District ( DCSD ) seeks qualified contractors to provide district - wide , ondemand tree cutting , trimming , removal , stump grinding , debris hauling , and related services at all DCSD facilities . The intent of this contract is to maintain safe , accessible , and aesthetically appropriate school campuses in support of DCSD ’ s mission of providing a safe learning environment . 2 . Scope of Services The Contractor shall provide all labor , supervision , equipment , materials , tools , transportation , and incidentals necessary to perform the following services on an as - needed basis : 2 . 1 Tree Trimming & Pruning • Trimming and pruning trees to promote healthy growth , remove hazardous limbs , and improve clearance for buildings , sidewalks , play areas , signage , lighting , and parking lots . • Clearance requirements : minimum of 10 feet above sidewalks , 14 feet above driveways , and 20 feet above roadways . 2 . 2 Tree Removal • Safe and complete removal of hazardous , dead , diseased , or storm - damaged trees . • Removal must minimize impact to surrounding landscaping , structures , and utilities . • Stump grinding to a minimum depth of 12 inches below grade . 2 . 3 Emergency Response • 24 / 7 availability for emergency tree removal services caused by storm damage , fallen trees , or other safety hazards . • Contractor must be able to mobilize within 2 hours of emergency notification . 2 . 4 Debris Removal & Disposal • All tree debris ( branches , logs , stumps , leaves , etc .) must be removed from the site the same day of work , unless otherwise directed . • Disposal must comply with local , state , and federal regulations . 2 . 5 Utility Coordination • Contractor shall coordinate with utility companies when trees are in close proximity to electrical , water , sewer , gas , or communications infrastructure . 2 . 6 Site Restoration • All disturbed areas ( lawns , landscaping , sidewalks , etc .) must be restored to original condition following completion of services .
