Description | The Division of Mine Safety ( DMS ) is seeking qualified companies to provide laboratory drug screens for Miner Certifications and DMS Employee Testing . In accordance with KRS 351 . 182 drug screening of applicants seeking to become certified miners isrequired to ensure they are drug free prior to certification . Post accident drug testing is performed under the authority of the Division of Mine Safety ( DMS ). Monthly screening is also required as condition for employment for miners with settlement agreements . KRS 351 . 120 requires proof of drug and alcohol - free status for issuance of mine foreman ’ s certificates , required under KRS 351 . 090 for appointment to the office of mine safety specialists . KRS 351 . 182 ( 8 ) provides for a minimum 10 panel urine testing protocol acceptable for the establishment of drug - free status for miner certification under KRS Chapter 351 , and further provides that " the remaining panels to be used in the urine test shall be set by order of the Mine Safety Review Commission no later than June 1 of each year "... |
