The Town of Wayland ( hereinafter “ Town ”), acting through its Town Manager , hereby invites sealed bids from qualified vendors to supply all labor and materials needed for the reconstruction of public roads in Wayland , including roadway resurfacing ( following milling / scarification to be performed by others ). Associated controls for traffic , environmental protection and siltation control are included . Work during the night may be required . PROJECT LOCATION The Work consists of resurfacing of roads in Wayland that have previously undergone milling / scarification or reclamation and casting adjustments ( by others ) and all work incidental thereto , in accordance with the Specifications and conceptual plans . Potential projects are subject to approval by the Town and budget appropriations . The Town may elect to modify , delete or add locations as to schedule and availability of funds . The limits and extents of work are not guaranteed . Additional drawings showing details in accordance with which the Work is to be done may be furnished by the Town during the contract period , and shall then become a part of the Contract Documents . Each Contractor must familiarize himself fully with the conditions relating to the construction of the project and the employment of labor thereon . Failure to do so will not relieve a successful bidder of his obligation to furnish all material and labor necessary to carry out the provisions of his contract . Insofar as possible the Contractor , in carrying out his work , must employ such methods or means as will not cause any interruption of or interference with the work of any other Contractor . 8 . PROJECT SPECIFICATIONS AND DELIVERABLES The Contractor shall furnish all labor , services , materials , equipment , plant , machinery , apparatus , appliances , tools , supplies , and all other things necessary to do all work required to provide the materials and services in the estimated quantities listed within , including the cleaning of the prepared roads , placement of base / binder coarse , leveling course , tack coat as required , and final top course of existing asphalt surfaces . The Work to be done and paid for under any item shall not be limited to the exact extent mentioned or described but shall include all incidental work necessary or customarily done for the completion of that item . All materials , equipment , and execution shall be conformance with Massachusetts Department of Transportation ( MassDOT ) requirements including but not limited to the 2025 edition of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts , Department of Transportation Standard Specifications for Highway and Bridges , and the current addition of amendments and addenda shall apply to the work to be done hereunder . The Town expects to complete the work in separate phases throughout the Contract period in separate and distinct projects . The Contractor shall assume each project will require a separate mobilization and demobilization . Portions of the work will require the work to be completed during the night in order to reduce transportation impacts . No additional payment shall be made for adjustments to work schedule for night work . The Contractor shall be responsible for any equipment specifically required to complete the work at night including portable light stanchions . Contractor responsibilities : 1 . All permits and inspections unless specifically noted elsewhere in the Construction Documents . 2 . Coordinate with the DPW to develop a schedule for the work . 3 . Dig Safe of each work area . The Town Water Department is not a member of Dig Safe and shall be notified at ( 508 ) 358 - 3672 . 4 . Provision of all labor and equipment necessary to complete the Project . 5 . Protection of the site from unauthorized personnel during the execution of the Project . 6 . Staging of equipment and materials during the execution of the work . Town responsibilities : 1 . Traffic control devices , signage and police details . 2 . Preliminary cleaning of the road prior to placement of bituminous concrete .
