Description | The successful implementation of Ranked Choice Voting ( RCV ) in the November 2024 General Election for City of Portland contests highlighted the importance of robust voter education . As Multnomah County prepares for county - wide RCV implementation in November 2026 , it is crucial to expand education efforts to East Multnomah County areas outside of the City of Portland , where voters have not yet experienced voting with a ranked choice ballot . This pilot grant program aims to empower community organizations to develop and implement effective RCV education initiatives tailored to the unique needs of East Multnomah County residents . Program Goals • Increase Awareness : Promote understanding of RCV to at least 5 , 000 potential East Multnomah County voters . • Build Confidence : Equip voters with the knowledge and confidence to cast ballots using RCV . • Support Community - Based Education : Deliver culturally and linguistically appropriate RCV education through community partners . • Non - Partisan / Apolitical Education : All activities must be non - partisan and apolitical . |
