Description
Description | The purchase of two Enzyme - Linked Immunosorbent Assay ( ELISA ) screening instruments . One instrument is for the Chicago Toxicology Lab and the other is for the Springfield Toxicology Lab . The ELISA screening method is an end - point heterogenous competitive enzyme immunoassay technique used for the analysis of specific compounds in biological materials . The Toxicology Section will use these instruments to conduct drug analysis on blood and urine in DUI , criminal sexual assault , and homicide cases . These instruments will be used to replace aging and worn ELISA instruments . Newer and advanced instrumentation will provide more robust and sensitive methods to improve analysis , increase efficiency , reduce downtime , and ensure quality . SUPPLIES AND / OR SERVICES REQUIRED : ELISA instrument must meet the following specs Must be a fully automated ELISA system that allows for multiple assays , a minimum of 4 , on a single plate . Automation of the system must allow for complete walk - away analysis of up to 384 samples ( as contained on four 96 - well microtitre plates ). Walk away analysis requires no operator intervention after initialization of sample analysis until analysis is complete . System must be based on conventional ELISA techniques where the operating principle is based on competitive binding between enzyme labeled drug and drug in samples , controls , and calibrators . Instrument must use conventional enzyme labeling and measurement of reaction via spectrophotometric techniques . The system must include all components and accessories necessary for analysis to include all fluid handling , plate manipulation , plate washing , and spectrophotometric detector . All components must be integrated into a complete system controlled by a single software interface . System must not require the purchase of auxiliary devices to make completely functional . The system must include a laser printer capable of handling the output of the instrument . The complete system must operate on convention 120 volt alternating current typical in laboratories . Manufacturer recommended daily maintenance must be able to be completed by ISP in 10 minutes or less . During initial set - up and check out , the instrument must not demonstrate false negative or positive results related to the design and operation of the instrument . The instrument must be able to operate a full batch of quality control samples and 20 simulated case samples without operator intervention or mechanical failure of any kind . The instrument must have the flexibility to analyze blood , urine , oral fluid and forensic matrices such as vitreous humor fluid without pre - treatment of samples other than simple dilution . The instrument must support on - board dilution of urine samples . Urine samples must not require prior manipulation or treatment by the operator . The system must include all software , hardware , and licenses necessary to perform analysis . Software must include the ability to provide reports in a batched format as well as provide a single page report for individual samples . The system must support the analysis of the following drug or drug classes at the given concentrations in whole blood . Drugs or drug classes at these concentrations must be clearly distinguishable from samples containing no drugs . Amphetamines amphetamine 50 ng / ml Barbiturates secobarbital 100 ng / ml Benzodiazepines oxazepam 50 ng / ml Cocaine metabolite benzoylecgonine 50 ng / ml Opiates morphine 50 ng / ml THC 5 ng / ml Fentanyl 1 ng / ml PCP 10 ng / ml LSD 1 ng / ml Buprenorphine 1 ng / ml Warranty : One - year parts and labor delivered at the laboratory per instrument . 5 - year annual preventive maintenance included . Installation and one time on - site operator training . |
