Emergency Generator Radiator Repair

The two ( 2 ) original emergency generator radiators at TBRHSC are showing evidence of minor coolant leaks . Remediation is required to prevent failure and maintain cooling capacity . Each generator is a Detroit Diesel Spectrum model 1000DS - 4 powered by Detroit Diesel / MTU 16V2000 diesel engine . The Contractor is to perform complete remediation of the radiators as required , including the associated pipe , tube , hose , and fitting connections on emergency generators A and B . It is assumed that for a rebuild , radiators will have to be disassembled and shipped off site . The Contractor is responsible for all parts and materials required for the remediation of the radiators , including the supply , install , and removal of a lifting apparatus in the Penthouse , cradle / dolly for traversing the path of travel , and temporary lifting device for the removal / installation from ground level to the level 3 roof . The radiators Must be tested off - site to ensure no leaks prior to reinstallation at TBRHSC . Post installation , perform a full system coolant flush and replace with new coolant , clams , filters with appropriate level of corrosion inhibitor , that meets the original manufacturers ’ specifications . Each generator Must be tested to ensure 100 % operational status for one ( 1 ) hour under full load . See more
