EMPLOYEE ASSISTANCE PROGRAMS

Anne Arundel County administers an Employee Assistance Program for County employees . This program provides assistance to employees and their immediate family members and household members to help with personal and / or professional problems that may interfere with work and / or family responsibilities . The Successful Bidder shall retain licensed counselors to initially assess the problem while serving as a coordinating administrator . The Program includes the provision of services , followed by a referral to a qualified service provider , while maintaining on - going communication with the client until the case is closed . 2 . 2 This IFB solicits competitive bids from Bidders to provide and maintain an Employee Assistance Program including , but not limited to , professional and support staff , centralized convenient locations ; training seminars / materials , substance abuse case management as required by Federal Department of Transportation ( DOT ) regulations , and periodic reporting . The program shall be available to most employees but does not cover temporary employees who are not entitled to receive County h e a l t h benefits . It does cover merit employees , appointed employees , contractual employees who are entitled to County health benefits , Anne Arundel Community College employees , Anne Arundel County Library employees , and each of their immediate family and household members . It is estimated to be approximately 6465 individuals ( which includes an estimated five hundred ( 500 ) Volunteer Firefighters and fifty ( 50 ) Police Reserve Officers ). The objectives of the Employee Assistance Program ( EAP ) are : • To provide assistance with personal and / or professional problems of the employee • To encourage these employees to seek help • To refer these employees to the appropriate assistance resources after initial services are provided • To restore productivity and health to the employees by providing services to employees and their immediate households • To provide a p p r o p r i a t e interventions to allow the County to retain valuable employees • To provide strategic planning and leadership techniques • To provide executive coaching and climate assessments • To evaluate , refer , and follow - up with substance abuse cases in accordance with Federal guidelines • To provide on - line information • To provide newsletters related to wellness and health • To provide wellness and health tips • To provide community outreach services • To provide employees and family members at least a four ( 4 ) session model ...
