Funded services are intended to address immediate needs , reduce risk of further harm , and promote safety , stability , and long - term well - being for individuals and families impacted by violence . Proposed programs should prioritize culturally responsive , survivor - centered practices and demonstrate an understanding of violence as a preventable public health issue . Successful applicants will integrate prevention strategies that address immediate stabilization needs while also supporting pathways to recovery , resilience , and reduced likelihood of recidivism and / or re - victimization . |
