Scope of Work The scope of services includes , but is not limited to : a . Design , provision , installation , configuration , and ongoing support for the Wide Area Network Service ( i . e . The Service ) for the Birmingham City Schools . b . Provide Leased Lit Ethernet WAN with circuit speed options of either 10Gbps or 25Gbps . Circuits will be required from each individual Birmingham City Schools campus / facility ( Remote Site ) location to the district core ( WAN Core Site ). The final speed choice option selection for each Remote Site will be determined by BCS . c . WAN Connection must be capable of supporting 802 . 1Q / 802 . 1ad tagging and L2 control protocols . d . The current WAN Core Site will be moving to a new location 2101 6th Ave . Birmingham , AL aka WAN Core Site during the calendar year 2026 . This procurement is requesting the Core HUB to be located and installed at the new WAN Core Site location . e . Provide WAN Connection delivery to the WAN Core Site ( s ) from all Remote Sites the WAN Core Site is to be located at the Birmingham City Schools Board of Education 2101 6th Ave . Birmingham , AL . f . The location of the current WAN Core Site ( i . e . Old WAN Core Site ) is 2015 Park Place North , Birmingham , AL . It is not determined at this time when this site is closing , and it will be necessary to provide a 25Gbps service between the Old WAN Core Site and the Core WAN Site including any necessary support needed in any migration of services and continuity of services during the transition . With this understanding it is expected a transition period / build and cutover will occur to maintain reliable and consistent connectivity to all sites and to also maintain E - Rate funding , without any gaps in funding , regardless of service providers . g . A detailed plan of the approach and timeline for installation and migration of services to the new WAN Core Site should be provided . h . Provide 24x7x365 support for the detection and correction of network connectivity issues for any reason including major outages as well as individual circuit outages for any reason including component failure and configuration issues with routers , switches , and components of the solution such as optical network fiber , modulators , cables , and items provided and used in the reliable delivery of services at these locations , i . Provide each Remote Site with dedicated and non - shared bandwidth to the WAN Core Site . Birmingham City Schools is interested in proposals that will offer high reliability and welcomes proposals offering high reliability . j . All equipment provided must be provided with A / B power supplies and able to operate on the loss of a single power supply . Birmingham City Schools will provide necessary commercial power . Proposer must clearly state the required power in Watts and any special HVAC requirements .
