Description | The San Francisco Human Services Agency ( SFHSA ) announces its intent to seek proposals from nonprofit organizations interested in providing a work - study Vocational English Instruction Program ( VIP ) for Limited English Proficient ( LEP ) San Francisco residents receiving CalWORKs benefits . This program integrates vocational English instruction with structured , subsidized work - study transitional employment opportunities at community non - profit agencies where participants can apply their English learning and receive on - the - job - training . These combined services enable participants to acquire basic and occupational skills , increasing their employability in the US labor market . Services to include job coaching / tutoring , job readiness training , job search assistance , supportive services , and job retention support . In order to meet the CalWORKs definition of work - study , educational instruction must be provided by a post - secondary institution . Respondents are expected to demonstrate existing collaborative relationships within the community to support effective program delivery and transitional employment placements . |
