DESCRIPTION OF PROCUREMENT The University is conducting an RFP for ​​ F - engine Development System for High - Bandwidth Radio Correlators The University of Toronto Radio Astronomy and Instrumentation ( UTRAIN ) laboratory at the Dunlap Institute for Astronomy and Astrophysics is seeking for a qualified Proponent to provide the components ( hardware and control software ) required to implement a field - programmable gate array ( FPGA )- based data acquisition , signal processing , and networking system . The system will be used as a framework for the development of data acquisition and frequency channelization ( F -) engines for high - bandwidth correlators used in radio astronomy applications . The procurement is anticipated to involve negotiation . An electronic auction is not anticipated .
