Description | The Los Angeles County Sheriff ’ s Department has two Departmental data centers that require an upgrade to the current Handnet Biometric Access Control solution . The current solution is antiquated and no longer produced . Replacement parts are not available , so in the event of a malfunction , the repairs , if repairable , take extended periods of time , leaving the data center unsecure . These data centers house the Department ’ s mission and business critical systems , which include very sensitive data , as well as multi - millions of dollars ’ worth of computer hardware . The requested replacement solution will enhance the existing solution and is vital to maintaining our data center security . SCOPE / OBJECTIVES : Unpack , install , configure , and test the on - premises access control solution . The three ( 3 ) units will be installed at the SCC data center . |
