Farmer survey on potential adoption and economic impacts of technologies to reduce the use and risk of chemical pesticide in EU agriculture

<b><i>Please note that this is not a call for tenders but a publication announcing the Contracting authority’s <a href="https://ec.europa.eu/docsroom/documents/40287" target="_blank">intention to publish a future negotiated low or middle valueprocedure. </a> </i></b><br></br>The objective of this study is to conduct a survey to EU farmers in at least 3 different regions / case studies. The collected data will allow the JRC to analyze the potential adoption and impacts of digital and mechanical technologies for the reduction of chemical pesticide use and risk by farmers in the EU. The study will particularly focus on the attitudes of farmers towards those technologies and on their potential impacts on the farm economic performances. The specific objectives of the study include: • Define and implement a survey strategy for the sampling of farmers • Conduct all the steps of a survey (test, pilot and main survey) to selected farmers in order to collect high-quality data on the adoption of digital and mechanical technologies for pesticide use and risk reduction • Produce a clean and readable database gathering all the information collected through the survey, and ready to be analysed with inference statistics and econometric method
