The selected contractor will provide all labor , materials , equipment , tools , and supervision necessary to construct approximately 162 LF of 6 ' Chain Link Fence with Barbed Wire at the top , install two 4 ' swinging gates , create two 12 ' entrance and exit areas from existing fence , and extend the existing Transfer Station gates back 24 ' and re - install existing gates . Work shall include , but not be limited to : 1 . General Requirements : o Install 162 LF of Chain Link Fence and Walk - Through Gates o Create Two 12 " Entrance and Exit Areas from existing Fence • Extend Existing Fence of the Transfer Station 24 ' and Re - Install Existing Gates . 2 . Materials : o Quality of Materials A . All Steel , including fabric , pipe and fittings shall be first quality , full weight , " hot dip " galvanized material . All weights and dimensions are nominal o Fabric A . No 9 - gauge wire , woven into a 2 " link mesh galvanized after fabrication . Top selvage of the fabric will be knuckled . Wire used in fabric shall be open - hearth steel , containg not less than 0 . 20 % copper with tensile strength of not less than 5 , 000 lbs . per square inch . o Line Posts A . 2 " Sch . 40 galvanized steel pipe set in concrete . B . Minimum depth on all line posts is 36 " below grade . oBarb Wire & Extension Arms A . Barb wire shall consist of two twisted strands of 14 gauge 4 - point barbs at a maximum spacing of 5 " apart . The wire shall be galvanized after weaving . B . Extension arms shall be one piece , 12 gauge minimum , galvanized , and designed to prevent entry of water in post . The arm shall be provided with a means of fastening to the post . The extension arms shall extend upward and outward at an angle of 45 degrees . o Top Rail A . Shall be 1 5 /" Sch . 40 galvanized steel pipe , in lengths of not less than 20 feet . Exception : pieces cut to fit end of run . Splicing shall be directly over the top of the last line post . o Terminal Post Tops A . End and corner posts to be fitted with heavy galvanized steel dome caps . o Terminal and Walk Thru Gate Posts A . Shall be 3 " O . D . Sch . 40 galvanized steel pipe set in concrete . Minimum depth is 36 " below grade . o Tension Bands 이 O A . Shall be galvanized steel with nuts and bolts Gates A . There will be two 4 ' wide by ' tall walk - through swing gates . All gates shall include barb wire on top portion of gate . Bottom Tension Wire A . 3 . Construction : Install 7 - gauge coil spring galvanized tension wire within 2 inches of bottom of all fence fabric prior to stretching fabric , pull wire taut without sags . Fasten fabric to ternsion wire with 9 - gauge steel hog rings . There should be 6 rings per 10ft . section of wire . Tension wire shall be between post and fabric .
