Description | 1 ) The liquid aluminum - based coagulant to be furnished shall have the following typical properties : Chemical formula : FeCl3 ; pH ; < 2 . 0 ; Color : Varying shades of yellow to brown liquid ; Melting point : 306 c ( solid form ); Boiling Point 315 ° C ; Solubility : Highly soluble in water , ethanol and acetone ; CAS Number : 7705 - 08 - 0 ; UN Class UN 2582 Corrosive Liquid N . O . S . Dosing : Ferric chloride should be fed straight . No dilution or preparation is required . A diaphragm , metering pump of noncorrosive material is suitable . Ferric can be sold by gallons or pounds . It is approximately 12 lbs per wet gallon . A truck load will be approximately 4 , 000 gallons and should be delivered in 3 - 5 days after order is made . 2 ) The supplier guarantees the ferric chloride furnished during the contract period will meet or exceed all American Water Works Association ( AWWA ) standards . 3 ) The product will be delivered in approximately 4 , 000 - gallon tanker truck shipments and pumped into tanks with hose connections that could vary in size at the different treatment plants . Bidder should make arrangement with plant before delivery to make sure enough hose and proper fittings are brought at delivery . |
