Description | Fire Extinguisher Inspections ( SA ) – Contractor must carry appropriate licenses and / or certifications providing authorization to perform scheduled programmed maintenance and testing to a variety of brands / types / sizes / variations of fire extinguishers . All programmed maintenance and testing shall be per NFPA 10 . Wake County Public Schools has approximately 10 , 000 fire extinguishers of varying sizes in its inventory . Extinguishers are inspected and maintained on a code required 5 , 6 or 12 year cycle . Contractor is expected to provide maintenance , inspection , and recharging of fire extinguishers of various sizes and types per year . WCPSS will deliver the fire extinguishers in need of service if the business is located in Wake County . If the business is not located in Wake County , then the business must provide a drop - off site within five ( 5 ) miles of Wake County . |
