Firing Range Construction

The Kansas Department of Corrections is accepting proposals for Firing Range Construction at the Larned State Correctional Facility . Site Survey All Service Companies desiring to provide services specified shall visit the location listed above to become familiar with the facility and location prior to submitting a proposal . No proposal shall be accepted from any Service Company unless it has been verified that there has been a site visit prior to submittal . The Service Company shall not be relieved from assuming all responsibility for properly estimating the difficulties and cost of performing the services required with this specification , because of failure to investigate the conditions or familiarity with information concerning the services to be performed . All Service Companies are required to develop and submit a detailed list of equipment to accurately estimate the resources required to properly construct Firing Range in the specified area of the facility grounds . The list should include labor , equipment , safety , and materials for the following scope of work . Service Companies Responsibilities / Scope of Service • Range area will be 200 ’ x 400 ’ plus a parking lot and entrance drive . • Parking lot ’ s size will be 200 ’ x 100 ’. • Move dirt located on grounds at Larned State Correctional Facility to construct a Firing Range . • Remove the existing top cap , remove the dirt that is full of weeds and fusing the lower layers together to prevent erosion not compromise the integrity of berm being built . • Grade and compact dirt as needed . • Build up total area for proper slop and drainage . • Range dirt work needs to be completed by April 5 , 2026 .
