Fishers Peak State Park - NEW Park Construction Phase 1 SEFP

This report presents the results of our Subgrade Investigation and Pavement Design , and Preliminary Geotechnical Investigation for the proposed improvements including access roadways , campgrounds , and a visitor ’ s center for Fishers Peak State Park located south of Trinidad , Colorado ( Fig . 1 ). The purpose of the investigation was to provide an indication of the subsurface conditions for design of access roads and for planning purposes regarding placement and foundation types for future structures . The scope was described in our Proposal No . SC - 22 - 0052R2 , dated revised October 7 , 2022 . This report was prepared from data developed during field exploration , laboratory testing , review of previous investigations in the area , engineering analysis , and experience with similar conditions . The report includes a description of subsoil and bedrock conditions found in our exploratory borings and discussions of site development and construction as influenced by geotechnical considerations . When site plans and grading are finalized , a design level geotechnical investigation should be performed to develop site specific design criteria and construction details for retaining walls , foundations , floor systems , slabson - grade , and lateral earth loads , as well as drainage precautions . A brief summary of our conclusions and recommendations follows , with more detailed information in the report .
