Food Distribution Services - Congregate Meals

The Anne Arundel County , Maryland Department of Aging and Disabilities is seeking a qualified Bidder to provide the Department ' s Senior Nutrition Program with congregate meals for the elderly and others who qualify for these services , as outlined in this solicitation . These specifications describe the services required for the Anne Arundel County Department of Aging and Disabilities ’ Senior Nutrition Program . The Senior Nutrition Program provides both hot and frozen nutritious meals to older adults 60 years and older who attend one of the County ’ s Senior Nutrition Sites . The Nutrition Sites promote health , wellness and independence . Each meal served at the Nutrition Site meets at least ( ⅓ ) one - third of the Recommended Dietary Allowances ( RDA ) for older adults and follows the Dietary Guidelines for Americans . The majority of meals served at Nutrition Sites are hot / cold meals , box lunches and occasional frozen meals . 1 . 1 Meal Standards and Requirements Meals shall meet requirements for the nutritional needs of older adults as mandated by the Maryland Department of Aging and the Senior Nutrition Program and shall be prepared and delivered in accordance with COMAR 10 . 15 . 03 . Meals shall comply with Section 3 . 3 Meal Compliance . 1 . 2 Quality and Participant Satisfaction Meals shall meet the County ’ s requirements for quality , variety , and taste , with at least 75 % of participant surveys rating meals as “ good ” or “ better ,” measured quarterly .
