Free fall - prevention programs

The County seeks proposals to provide Fall Prevention programs at no cost to participants over 60 years old , that address the critical issue of falls among older adults and adults with disabilities . The funded programs should aim to reduce fall risk , prevent injuries , and improve participants ’ safety , mobility , and confidence through education , physical activity , and behavior change strategies . Programs may include injury prevention classes , workshops , and informational activities , and may incorporate exercise , fitness , education , and / or behavior modification components . While evidence - based fall prevention programs are preferred , the County will also consider evidence - informed or promising practices that in their proposals applicants can demonstrate will be effective in reducing fall risk . Examples of evidence - based fall prevention programs include , but are not limited to , A Matter of Balance and Bingocize ®.
