Full Depth Reclamation : Full depth reclamation includes constructing a stabilized base course by pulverizing the existing pavement structure and mixing with Portland cement or other acceptable additive to the required depth . All work shall be performed in accordance with the current Georgia DOT standards for construction for cement stabilized reclaimed base construction . Grade the reclaimed base between existing concrete gutters to accommodate a new asphalt pavement with standard crown at 2 %, sloping to either side , as the typical section , as follows : 10 in depth reclaimed base , 2 in 19 MM binder , 1 . 5 in 9 . 5 MM topping . The reclaimed base , binder and the topping shall be placed flush with existing gutters , where existing or newly constructed with the LINC project , however , an allowance of + 0 . 5 inch above the existing gutter is allowed for improved ride - ability . The Contractor shall be responsible for retaining a Georgia DOT approved testing firm to test the existing material and prepare a specific mix design for each road , or segment as may be necessary . The cost for this shall be included in the price bid for other items . Quality Control / Quality Assurance ( QC / QA ) shall be performed by the Contractor in cooperation with a Georgia DOT approved testing firm . Sampling , testing , and compaction shall be provided by the Contractor and shall be done in accordance with the Georgia DOT specifications . No separate payment shall be made for QC / QA , sampling , testing or the mix design . The City desires to recycle and reuse the existing asphalt in place by incorporating this asphalt into the stabilized base of the reclaimed section . Variable depth milling is included as a pay item in anticipation there is excess material . Any excess material shall become the property of the Contractor . The Contractor will not be permitted to grade excess material to exceed a 2 % cross slope . No separate item is provided for hauling .
