Description | Material Requirements – VALVES : − Gate valves ( 12 ” and smaller ) shall meet AWWA C509 - Latest Edition or AWWA C515 - latest edition − Valve Accessory / Fastening Kits , consisting of : Armor Tip Conductivity Mechanical Joint Gaskets ( no lead ), glands , and bolts are not to be furnished with the valve . o See RFQ “ VALVES ( BUTTERFLY VALVES AND VALVE ACCESSORIES )” for Valve Accessory / Fastening Kit bids . − Valve Adaptors are not to be furnished with the valve ( Adaptor Inc . valve adaptors , or equal ). o See RFT “ VALVE BOX ADAPTORS ” for Valve Box Adaptor bids . Gate Valve Specifications ( valves 12 - inches and smaller ): − Resilient Wedge Gate Valves − Supplied with mechanical joints . − Supplied with conductive ( no lead ) gaskets − Open to the left − Non - rising stem − O - ring packing − 2 - inch square operating nut Acceptable models ( standard gate valves ): − Kennedy – KS - FW 8571 , KS - RW 7571 or equal − Mueller – A2361 or equal − Clow – F6100 Model 2638 , 2639 , 2640 or equal − AFC – Series 2500 or equal − AFC 2500 Ductile Iron Resilient Wedge Gate Valve with ALPHA Ends Or Engineer - Approved Equal |
