Please note : This is a Sole Source Notification . NTC would like to purchase a GE Logiq E10s ultrasound imaging system for the Diagnostic Medical Sonography , Adult Echocardiography and Vascular programs . Our sonography program is composed of four different specialties : Diagnostic Medical Sonography ( AbdomenExtended and OB / GYN ), Adult Echocardiography , and Vascular Technology . Each specialty has specific requirements that must be taught to the students . Students will work on a variety of different ultrasound equipment at clinic and in the field once they graduate . The major ultrasound unit companies in the field are Philips , GE Healthcare , and Siemens Acuson . Since our program consists of a mixture of multiple specialities , we must have a unit that scans well across all specialties and has the most up - to - date functions and capabilities for each of us to teach our students protocols and techniques currently being used in their respective specialities . GE Healthcare has what is needed for all specialties and will be used by each modality . Currently , GNTC has 5 Philips and 1 Siemens Acuson ultrasound units . Purchasing the GE LOGIQ E10s will provide students with continuum of learning by ensuring that they are working on the most up - to - date equipment in the laboratory setting , ensuring a seamless developmental framework and integration from the classroom / lab to the workforce , aligning current standards used across the board .
