General Jethro Sumner Monument for Sumner County

Sumner County proposes to contract with an individual ( s ) or organization ( s ), hereinafter referred to as “ Contractor ”, for the furnishing , delivery , design , fabrication , and installation services required to complete a permanent public monument honoring Brigadier General Jethro Sumner . Contractor to provide all labor , materials , tools , equipment , transportation , services , and supervision for the project located in Sumner County , Tennessee . Structural Footing and Lighting ( County Provided ): Separate funding is available through the Sumner County Government for the construction and installation of the monument ’ s structural footing . This work will be performed by or coordinated through the Sumner County Highway Department and Sumner County Maintenance . Separate funding may also be available , at the County ’ s discretion , for thoughtfully placed lighting to ensure the monument is visible and beautifully illuminated in the evening . Any lighting work will be coordinated by the County with the Sumner County Highway Department and Sumner County Maintenance . The selected Contractor shall coordinate with the County to ensure compatibility between the monument design and the County - provided footing and any future lighting elements . The Contractor shall not include costs for structural footing or lighting installation in the proposal pricing . Monument Design Specifications : Large - Scale Monument : Granite obelisk . Height : Within nine to twelve feet ( 9 ’ – 12 ’). Width : Within four square feet by five square feet , four - sided base . Inscription : Reference General Jethro Sumner Monument Inscription language , subject to revisions based on final design elements and County approval . Material : The monument shall be durable , made of domestic Granite , off - white in color . Include pricing for four bronze medallions for emblems / seals for the Daughters of the American Revolution ( DAR ), Sons of the American Revolution ( SAR ), Sumner County , and Sumner County America 250 !
