Description | The principal objective of this project is to support the Government of Mauritius to combat financial crimes and improve financial integrity. As a leading International Financial Centre, the country needs to safeguard the integrity of its financial sector by ensuring that proper legislative, regulatory, institutional and policy frameworks are in place for combatting illicit financial flows (IFFs) and economic crimes. Given the broad reform agenda and limited room for borrowing by Government due to high public debt-to-GDP ratio, the country needs to identify innovative financing instruments for infrastructure projects. |
