GRANULAR ACTIVATED CARBON SYSTEM REPAIRS AT THE SEAMAN ROAD STATION

The work to be completed under this contract includes , but may not be limited to , the following repairs to an existing granular activated carbon adsorption system , as shown on the Contract Drawings , specified herein and asrequired for a complete installation . 1 . Furnishing and installing temporary facilities andutilities in accordance with projectspecifications . 2 . Inspection of the interior of the existing GAC vessels by the GAC vessel manufacturer after the existing carbon media has been removed . 3 . Pressure testing of existing piping and GAC vessels . 4 . Replacement of all valves / piping and mounting hardware on the valve tree with new valves / piping . 5 . Replacement of all distributors on the internal cone of each vessel . 6 . Replacement of all rubber expansion joints on the process piping of each vessel . 7 . Replacement of rupture disks . 8 . Replacement of pressure gauges and differential pressure gauges . 9 . Replacement of all existing carbon media with new virgin bituminous carbon media in accordance with Specifications . 10 . Manual removal of existing carbon media , if carbon media cannot be removed via conventional methods asspecified and as required and directed by the Engineer in writing . 11 . Surface prepare , clean and coat the vessel interiors as recommended by the manufacturer if required after manufacturer ' s inspection . 12 . Repairs to existing GAC vessels as required by the specifications and the manufacturer ' s inspection report . 13 . Flush , disinfect , and test the existing GAC vessels and all new piping in compliance with Nassau CountyDepartment of Health ( NCDH ) Requirements . 14 . Obtain and run all laboratory samples through NYSELAP certified laboratory . 15 . Start - up , commissioning , testing , adjusting and training of the Owner and Owner ' s staff . 16 . Prepare and maintain a Construction Schedule andConstruction Coordination Drawings in accordance with the specifications . 17 . Submission of Operation and Maintenance Manuals , As - Built Drawings , Warranty ' s and Guarantees and all other project closeout Documents . 18 . Coordination of all subcontractors . 19 . Removal of temporary facilities as required andshown , and site restoration as shown and called forin the contract drawings and as specified herein . 20 . Clean the work areas and restore the site to proposed grades and conditions shown or as required for complete installation . B . All components , appurtenances , accessories , pipes , valves , conduit required for a complete and operational system shall be included in the work of this contract to provide a complete installation for startup , commissioning , training and be ready to be placed intoservice upon receipt of approvals from Nassau County Department of Health ( NCDH ) and New York StateDepartment of Health ( NYSDOH ).
