2 . 1 Grit material generally consists of sand , stone , debris , organics , etc ., settled from raw sewage . May also contain other settled sewage materials such as vegetable matter ( carrots , beans , potatoes ). 2 . 2 Screenings generally consists of rags and other debris removed from raw sewage by mechanical bar screens and strain presses . 2 . 3 Scum contains substantial amounts of grease , other foreign materials and associated liquid resulting from being skimmed off the top of wastewater in sedimentation tanks . 2 . 4 Stabilization shall mean the treating of grit , scum , and screenings until a pH value is obtained as may be required by any Governmental Regulatory Agency for the disposal site utilized by Contractor . 2 . 5 It shall be the sole responsibility of the Contractor to visit the designated site and become familiar with the present pick - up and related conditions at the location . Joseph Gilch at ( 856 ) 541 - 3700 , ext . 2345 , 7 : 00 AM to 3 : 00 PM , Monday through Friday . 2 . 6 Bid prices shall include required charges for containers and deliveries Free On Board Destination ( F . O . B .) at the designated Authority location specified herein . Bid prices shall also include charges for transportation and dumping of all grit , screenings and scum from the Authority ’ s location specified herein . 2 . 7 More than one Bid from an individual , a Firm or Partnership , a Corporation or Association under the same names shall not be considered
