REFINISHING GYM FLOORS ~~~~~ includes the following : ► Sweep all gym floors and borders ; remove any tape or gum left on the floor . ( fresh , clean dust mops ) ► Pre - clean floor with a water - based cleaner ► Back screen all gym floors with 120 grit ( water based finishes ) and 100 grit ( oil based finishes ) screens . Do not use an autoscrubber for this task . ► Vacuum entire floor to remove all dirt and dust . ► Tack towel ( fresh , clean towels ) entire floor removing all remaining dust from surface . Clean tack towels are to be used for each gym ► ** NOTE ** NO TYKOTE or SIMILAR SYSTEMS ARE TO BE BID or USED on EPS GYM FLOORS ► Apply two ( 2 ) coats of MFMA - approved , two - component , water - based wood gym finish to all floors ( 2 days drying time is needed before getting on the floor );
