Description | DEQ requires approximately 185 employees to attend hands - on portable fire extinguisher training on an annual basis . The contractor shall provide both classroom and hands - on portable fire extinguisher training that meets the requirements of the Oregon State Fire Marshall ( OSFM ) and Oregon ’ s Occupational , Safety , and Health Administration ( OROSHA ). The hands - on portable fire extinguisher training shall include , but not be limited to , live hands - on demonstrations , video training , handouts , equipment , supplies , and certificates for all participants . The Contractor shall use one of the following hands - on methods to simulate extinguishing class A , B , and C fires : • A propane - based appliance that produces flame and replicates a real - life fire scenario ; or • A fire extinguisher training simulator . |
