ITEM NO . DESCRIPTION OF COMMODITIES AND / OR SERVICES 1 MANHOLE COVERS , FRAMES AND RISER RINGS 2 PRECAST CONCRETE CATCH BASIN TOPS AND GRATES SPECIFICATIONS : Item 1 : The material for the Manhole Covers , Frames and Riser Rings shall conform to the requirements for High Tensile Cast Iron , ASTM A48 CL35B . The Manhole covers and frames shall meet the current New Britain Standard Specifications , a copy of which is attached . The High Tensile Cast Iron covers shall have sufficient integral supports to meet or exceed the H - 20 loading requirements . The cover shall be in conformance with the City of New Britain Standard Manhole Casting detail ( attached ) without the lock into the frame through an integral locking device . Sanitary cover shall be plain , as shown on the attached detail . Storm water cover shall have “ S . W .” on cover . The High Tensile Cast Iron Frame shall allow increasing of the elevation through the use of a selflocking riser ring that permits the utilization of the existing manhole cover . Item 2 : The Precast Concrete Catch Basin Tops and Grates shall conform to State of Connecticut Department of Transportation , Standard Specifications for Roads , Bridges and Incidental Construction , Form 816 . Vendor shall be responsible for submitting manufacturer specifications and other documentation as may requested by City Engineering in the determination of suitability to City applications .
