Description | The City of Independence is requesting a proposal from a licensed and insured landscaping company to perform a replacement planting of thirty - seven existing trees in the downtown business district of Independence , KS . The downtown street scape features 4 ’ x 4 ’ tree wells set into the concrete sidewalk , covered with metal grates . Existing trees have exceeded the size limits for space and are due for replacement . The existing trees will be removed by city staff . The locations of the tree wells to be replaced are as follows . 100 block of East Main Street ; 100 block of West Main Street ; 100 block of South Pennsylvania Avenue ; 100 block of North Pennsylvania Avenue |
