The City of Los Angeles Community Investment for Families Department is seeking responses from pre - qualified vendors with demonstrated experience and current capacity to provide both Interpretation and Translation services on an as - needed basis . The purpose of this PQS is to secure selected vendors with demonstrated experience and capacity to perform Translation and / or Interpretation services on an as - needed basis : CIFD anticipates that future opportunities to perform additional work closely related to the scope of services solicited through this PQS may arise . The City reserves the right , at its sole discretion , to competitively bid these opportunities exclusively among the awarded Contractor ( s ) or to sole - source to one or more of the awarded Contractor ( s ). CIFD is seeking responses from pre - qualified vendors with demonstrated experience and current capacity to provide both Translation and Interpretation services on an as - needed basis . Universal Service Requirements ; The selected Respondent ( s ): 1 . Shall provide interpretation and translation services in multiple languages , relevant to the needs of City residents and stakeholders . At minimum , shall provide coverage for City ’ s threshold languages ( Refer to Exhibit 1 ). 2 . Shall provide translation and interpretation services in a timely , accurate , and efficient manner , at the time services are requested and in the formats requested . 3 . Shall provide confirmation of requested services in a quote with all associated costs in a timely manner ( preferably within the same business day , no more than 24 hours ). 4 . Shall maintain confidentiality of information gathered during the provision of services under this PQS , adhering to the highest standards of established privacy and security guidelines , to protect sensitive information . 5 . Shall ensure that all staff and independently contracted interpreters and translators have been trained on a standard code of ethics that includes maintaining confidentiality , impartiality , and ensuring accuracy of messaging . 6 . Shall have available at all times the equipment , facilities , and instrumentalities required to perform the services of interpreter and / or translator . 7 . Shall not include the sole use of technology and artificial intelligence to generate interpretation and / or translation . Shall implement quality assurance controls to ensure the accuracy of translation and interpretation services through human review processes .
