The purpose of our geotechnical investigation was to evaluate the existing pavement condition and structural section and provide recommendations for pavement rehabilitation , reconstruction , and resurfacing . The results of the field and laboratory programs were evaluated to develop conclusions and recommendations regarding the appropriate pavement rehabilitation alternatives , including calculating pavement structural sections . The scope of work performed by SCST , LLC ( SCST ) consisted of the following : • Marking the core locations for DigAlert purposes ; • Preparing traffic control plans for the explorations and permit ; • Preparing and obtaining a no fee encroachment permit from the city ; • Performing visual assessment of pavement surface conditions ; • Providing traffic control per CAMUTCD while performing the fieldwork ; • Coring the pavement at six locations and exploring the subsurface soil at three of the cored locations to subgrade level ( i . e . a pair of core / boring at each intersection ).
