The project area includes : • A municipally - owned parking lot located at 290 Main Street • An adjacent section of Spring Street intended to support programming and potential temporary or periodic closure . Approximate dimensions : . 48 Acre Parcel ID # 030 - 05 - 015 . The City of Holyoke is developing the La Placita Project , a community - centered public space intended to serve as a culturally representative gathering area in the downtown Main Street corridor . The project seeks to transform an underutilized municipal parking lot and adjacent street segment into a flexible public plaza that supports community gathering , cultural expression , and economic activity . An initial conceptual design has already been developed . |
