Lift Station 18 Improvements

This project will include improvements of the City of Adel ' s Lift Station # 18 . This station is a three - pump ( triplex ) submersible sewage pumping station . To replace aging infrastructure and upsize the lift station capacity , a new wetwell complete with pump station components will be installed at the site of the existing pump station next to the existing equipment . The following major components will be installed : pour - in - place concrete wetwell and valve pad , three submersible pumps , guide rails , access hatches , station piping , electrical panel and controls , sanitary sewer manholes , fencing , new GAB site pad . Existing equipment will be relied upon for lift station operation during construction . Following turnover to new equipment , existing structures will be abandoned in place , and pipes will be cut , capped , and abandoned in place where indicated on the plans . Contractor will also make the appropriate connections and disconnections to and from the existing and proposed system . Bypass pumping will be required to make tie - ins to the existing force main .
