Scope of Work Los Alamitos High School Practice Field Grading Project | RFP 2526 - 08 • Scope of Work Scope of Work – Grass Practice Field Grading & Renovation Project Delivery Method : Design - Bid - Build Project Location : Los Alamitos High School - Practice Fields North of Aquatics Center 1 . Project Overview The project consists of grading and renovation of two existing natural grass practicefields located north of the Aquatics Center at Los Alamitos High School . The work includes regrading for drainage , soil import / export , turf establishment , and irrigation adjustments to create properly sloped , playable athletic practice fields . The District will award the project to a licensed California Class B General Contractorresponsible for coordinating all trades and completing all work necessary for a complete and functional installation . 2 . Contractor Responsibilities ( Survey , Layout & Quantities ) The Contractor shall be fully responsible for : • Surveying and Layout • Performing all surveying required for construction • Establishing control points and field layout • Measuring and staking all work in the field • Field Layout Approval Providing a proposed field layout to the District • Obtaining District approval of layout prior to any demolition or grading activities • Earthwork Quantification • Verifying all quantities of import and export soil • Including all necessary earthwork in their bid based on their own takeoffs and fieldverification • Construction Execution Furnishing all labor , materials , equipment , and supervision required for a complete installation 3 . Field Layout & Orientation • Two ( 2 ) practice fields shall be constructed running north - south • Fields shall include graded dimensions for sidelines and end zones • Contractor shall utilize the attached field profile for vertical grading control andshaping of each field 4 . Grading & Drainage Requirements 4 . 1 General Criteria • All grading shall provide positive drainage across the site • Maximum allowable slope : 6 % • No slope shall exceed 6 % unless approved by the District 4 . 2 South End Condition • The south end of both fields shall terminate approximately 15 feet from the adjacent sidewalk • This area shall be graded to : • Swale and drain to the east and west • Prevent drainage toward the sidewalk • Transitions between field and swale areas shall be smooth and continuous 4 . 3 Field Slopes • Fields shall be graded per the attached field profile • Transitions between field and swale areas shall be smooth and continuous 4 . 3 Field Slopes • Fields shall be graded per the attached field profile • Primary drainage shall flow toward the north • Surfaces shall be smooth , uniform , and suitable for athletic use 4 . 4 North End Drainage • The north end of each field shall : • Taper down toward the north • Maintain a slope not exceeding 6 % • Provide positive drainage away from the field 4 . 5 Between and Adjacent Field Drainage • Grading between fields for drainage shall follow the slope of the fields • Areas between the fields shall drain consistently with field grading ( north / south ) • Areas along the east and west sides of the fields shall drain toward the north and tieinto overall site drainage patterns 5 . Earthwork & Turf Scope 1 . Removal of Existing Turf • Remove existing grass across approximately 136 , 080 SF 2 . Subgrade Preparation Scarify subgrade to a depth of 6 inches • Moisture condition and compact as required 3 . Soil Import and Export • Perform all required import and / or export as determined by Contractor • Include all haul , placement , and grading necessary to achieve final design 4 . Fine Grading • Perform precision grading to meet all slope and drainage requirements
