Description | The purpose of the project is to improve deficiencies and provide a smoother riding surface , therefore , decrease the cost of ongoing roadway maintenance . The improvements to the roadway are to eliminate current potholes , depressions , rutting , and other pavement failures . This project is for the resurfacing of approximately 4 . 44 miles of existing roadway on SR 3019 & SR 0424 in HAZLE TOWNSHIP , LUZERNE COUNTY , in the COMMONWEALTH OF PENNSYLVANIA . The resurfacing includes asphalt wearing courses , scratch courses , milling , line painting , shoulder backup , pavement markings , and guide rail improvements . All work will be completed within the existing roadway . All maintenance and protection of traffic ( MPT ) will be completed in accordance with the special provisions of the contract and will consist of short - term patterns . |
