Description | Colliers Project Leaders is seeking the services of an Architect / Interior Designer for the following brief scope of work ; This project is to take place at the Brantford SCJ Courthouse building located at 70 Wellington St , Brantford , ON and the Land Registry Building located at 80 Wellington St , Brantford , ON . The Courthouse building consist of three ( 3 ) levels , The Land Registry building consist of two ( 2 ) levels and currently accommodates VVPD . Project Intent : The intent of the project is to design and implement an integrated , enterprise level video surveillance , access control and duress alarm system . Scope of Work Includes : - Video Surveillance : Prisoner and public areas , entries , exits and parking . Furthermore , image storage consistent with MAG standards , including a separate , secure equipment room . - Access Control : Separates public - private spaces . - Duress Alarm : As per ministry standards . - Security Film : To be applied on courtroom and judicial chambers windows . - Signage : Consistent with MAG ’ s standards . Consulting Services : A qualified Architect prime consultant shall be retained for the design , delivery , and testing & commissioning of the work . The successful proponent of this project will have a demonstrable experience in designing security systems for courthouses and / or other justice facilities involving in - custody handling and safety of the public / users . The project team shall include experienced professionals qualified in the in the fields of electronic and physical security , electrical engineering , audio - visual technology , heritage , and any other disciplines required to design and implement the new security system . The prime consultant to prepare plans and specifications based on the available conceptual layout , to assist in the tendering process , and to administer the construction contract between the project manager and the contractor in compliance with IO design & commissioning guidelines , MAG standards , and any other listed design standards . The Prime Consultant ( Lead Architect ) along with supporting of other disciplines / consultants must review project documentation and survey the facility to note site conditions ( date , equipment reviewed , pictures ) and develop basis of design and CAD drawings / sketches for the implementation for new security , Card access and duress alarm systems , … etc . The Prime Consultant will not solely rely on the drawings and documents provide in this RFP and will be responsible for assessing the site conditions and systems by conducting a thorough physical investigation and develop CAD drawings required for the project . Coordination with existing services ( HVAC , electrical … etc ) within the facility as required to accommodate MAG security requirements . And refitting of the existing interview room into a control room with the issuance of all the required architectural design and finishes requirements of the space ( flooring , walls , ceilings , … etc ). Designer shall incorporate in contract documents requirements for undertaking Work in the courthouse facility such that disruption to the work of the courts is not unduly affected . Scheduling and sequencing of Work shall be agreed to by MAG and the Police , and this information shall be outlined in the contract documents . Construction will be sequentially phased into multiple phases to enable ongoing use and occupancy of the existing courthouse facility . All equipment that requires maintenance must be accessible for service and maintenance , including equipment mounted in ceiling spaces . Any new systems with new features or functions installed that can be monitored , measured or controlled shall be integrated through the proposed new control room . All permits , MOPs , Lock - out / Tag - out procedures , escorting , security requirements , logistics , safety features shall be included in the correct sequence of design work and cost estimating . The consultant is responsible to interview the stakeholders , including , but not limited to : MAG Court Services Division , Police and BGIS to translate their requirements into a phasing plan acceptable to the facility , which can accommodate their operational requirements . The Prime Consultant will be responsible for updating / completion of CMMS forms – for any disposal and new addition of security equipment . Its the prime consultant ’ s scope of work to coordinate CMMS ( Equipment / Asset update form ) and MOP ( Method of Procedure ) to notify IO / MAG for any shut - down / downtime for switch - over to the new system through the contractor . It is the prime consultant ’ s responsibility to adhere to the design schedule and deliverables , should there be any site information missing or required , the prime consultant to visit the site and complete the investigation until the info is known . Heritage consultant shall be engaged as the building is identified as Provincial Heritage Property of Provincial Significance ( PHPPS ). Consultant to carry a qualified and experienced heritage consultant , or provide the necessary heritage skills and experience through in - house resources , to appropriately assess the impact , if any , that the design and equipment may have on heritage features of the list buildings above . All work should meet appropriate codes , standards , and IO guidelines ; the Ontario Heritage Act , Standards & Guidelines for the Conservation of Provincial Heritage Properties ; and Information Bulletin 3 , Heritage Impact Assessments for Provincial Heritage Properties .
