Description | A . Contractor shall open and date stamp mail and place it in a mail tub . The tub will be given to a co - worker who will be responsible for distribution of the incoming mail . B . Contractor shall be able to : 1 ) Open mail and perform date stamping service tasks . 2 ) Operate two ( 2 ) different types of mail opening equipment : an electronic date stamper and an automatic letter opener machine . 3 ) Follow verbal instructions . 4 ) Communicate and deal tactfully with department personnel . C . Contractor shall exercise good judgment in processing incoming mail , as delays , inaccuracies , improper processing , or loss of mail and documents could result in loss of funds from Federal and State governments , lawsuits against Caltrans , or delays in the timely processing of accounting materials , as required under the Prompt Payment Act ( GC § 927 , et seq .) for the State of California . |
