The proposed contract action is for the supplies for which the Government intends to solicit andnegotiate with one source , Microchip Technology , and all qualifying distributors under theauthority of FAR 13 . 106 - 1 . This is being sole sourced because these items already exist in thecustomer ’ s program and have been ingratiated into their system . All responsible sources may submita capability statement , which shall be considered by the agency . However , a determination by theGovernment not to compete with this proposed contract based upon responses to this solicitation aresolely within the discretion of the Government .
