MTA is committed to providing safe , reliable , courteous , accessible and user - friendly services . This includes accessible bus and rail services as well as door - to - door Mobility service for individuals with disabilities who are unable to use the bus and rail service . As required by the federal Americans with Disabilities Act ( ADA ), the MTA provides a complementary Mobility service , for individuals with disabilities operating within a ¾ mile corridor on either side of MTA fixed routes . Mobility is a shared ride , advanced reservation , origin - to - destination service that mirrors the days and hours of fixed route operations as required by ADA transportation regulations . Mobility service offers a level of service comparable to MTA regular bus service . Mobility riders are not required to reside in a Mobility service area in order to access the service . Rather , it is the customer pick - up and drop - off locations that must occur within a Mobility service area in order to utilize the offering . MTA is not required nor does it intend to accommodate all the transportation needs of individuals with disabilities with Mobility services . The purpose of Mobility is to provide a specialized form of public transportation in accordance with federal transportation regulations . Mobility services are provided twenty - four ( 24 hours ) a day , seven ( 7 ) days a week , three hundred - and - sixty - five -( 365 ) days a year . Mobility customers must make a reservation one ( 1 ) to seven ( 7 ) days in advance of each one - way trip . Reservations are accepted seven ( 7 ) days a week through the Mobility call center from 8 : 00AM until 5 : 00PM or through the Website / Mobile App 24 / 7 .
