The Illinois Secretary of State is seeking bids for money order services at 10 - 12 ILSOS DMV facilities . This is intended as a convenience to customers and not a revenue generating initiative . ILSOS will not take any fees for this service . All facilities accept IDOR paperwork for taxes and the payment , but payment must be in the form of check or money order ( no cash or credit cards ). ILSOS then forwards it to IDOR for processing . Payments received for IDOR cannot be deposited by ILSOS . Currently ILSOS sends customers away from the facility to a bank or currency exchange to purchase a money order if they bring cash for their IDOR payment . They then return to the facility to complete their transaction . The goal is to provide more streamlined and efficient customer service without needing multiple visits to the facility for this . SUPPLIES AND / OR SERVICES REQUIRED : All hardware equipment and supplies needed for printing money orders . 10 - 12 facilities will have a money order machine with 4 - 5 larger facilities needing 2 each , for a total of 15 to 17 . These machines will be run by ILSOS staff . Any software necessary for this process . Please provide a narrative that includes IT requirements as part of the bid process to ensure it is compliant with ILSOS IT requirements . Reporting tool to generate sale , void , damaged money order information for audit and money reconciliation purposes . User support and troubleshooting for any printer issues within 24 hours of the issue being reported Training to SOS staff for running the equipment , software , etc . Any marketing materials required to be displayed at the facilities for this service . The solution must not be dependent on ILSOS agency computers . Vendor must provide software updates and security patches . MILESTONES AND DELIVERABLES : Vendor will send a monthly invoice for the previous month ’ s transactions . Vendor may choose to receive payment via check or direct deposit ACH . Vendor will need to sign up with the Illinois Comptroller to receive direct deposit payments .
