Municipal Prosecutor The Municipal Prosecutor shall be an attorney at law of New Jerey in good standing and shall provide all necessary and desirable legal counsel and advice requested for the prosecution of cased before the Municipal Court and shall conduct the prosecution of such cases except such crimes and offenses as it may be the duty of the county or state officer to prosecute . The Prosecutor may also have to prosecute all matters falling within the ordinances of the municipality . Court sessions shall be scheduled by the Judge of the Municipal Court , and may include special sessions . Court is currently held on each Minday for five ( 5 ) hours from 10 - 3 and each Tuesday for 4 ( 4 ) hours from 8 - 12 . Please provide malpractice and professional liability insurance . Previous municipal court experience is also preferred . The following are the minimum threshold requirements that will be utilized in the solicitation of persons and / or firms to be considered for the above : 1 . At least 3 years experience as a Prosecutor , Public Defender or general Municipal Court experience preferred . 2 . The attorney must be licensed and in good standing with the Bar of the State on New Jersey for a preferred minimum of three ( 3 ) years . 3 . Must be familiar with Title 39 and Title 2C matters that generally arise in Municipal Court . 4 . Must also have experience in municipal court with municipal ordinance violations .
