The project consists of installing a new fully - actuated traffic signal system at the intersection of Rubidoux Boulevard and 24th Street , including all necessary signal poles and mast arms , vehicular and pedestrian signal heads , pedestrian push buttons , a new controller cabinet with battery backup , and all associated conduit , wiring , pull boxes , and electrical service components . The work also includes installing traffic detection systems such as inductive loops and any required video or radar detection , along with the trenching and pavement restoration needed to support these improvements . Roadway enhancements will include new or replacement asphalt paving , ADA - compliant curb ramps , sidewalk adjustments , and equipment pads . Updated signing and striping will be provided throughout the intersection , including new stop bars , crosswalks , lane markings , and regulatory signage , with removal of any conflicting pavement markings . The project additionally requires temporary traffic control , utility coordination , surveying , and restoration of all disturbed areas to complete the installation
