Description | The City of Alameda is soliciting applications from organizations , such as Community Based Organizations ( CBO ), interested in creating opportunities for economic productivity through projects that create new jobs , retain existing employment , revitalize or facilitate competitiveness of the local economy . In addition , organizations interested in supporting new and existing businesses are encouraged to apply . Economic development grant awards are provided through the City ’ s Community Development Block Grant ( CDBG ) Program . The City ’ s CDBG Program is funded by the U . S . Department of Housing and Urban Development ( HUD ). In FY 2025 - 26 , the City did not fund economic development activities . Nonetheless , the City is committed to funding eligible economic development projects as outlined in the Five - Year Consolidated Plan |
