1 . PURPOSE OF PROPOSAL The New Brunswick Board of Education is soliciting requests for proposals ( RFP ’ s ) through the Competitive Contracting Process ( N . J . S . A . 18A : 18A - 4 . 1 et seq .) for the purpose of entering into a contract for nursing service such as one on one ( 1 :) Nursing , Transport Nurses , Substitute Nursing and Health Aides ( 1 : 1 ). 2 . DESCRIPTION The New Brunswick Public Schools are a comprehensive community public school district , serving students in pre - Kindergarten through twelfth grade from the city of New Brunswick in Middlesex County , New Jersey . The District ’ s 15 schools have an approximate enrollment of 10 , 000 + and approximately 800 teachers . 3 . SCOPE OF SERVICE The New Brunswick Board of Education invites proposals from an organization that have expertise in providing nursing services between July 1 , 2026 through June 30 , 2027 . • The nursing agency will provide Registered Nurses ( RN ), Licensed Practical Nurses ( LPN ) or Health Aides to care for New Brunswick Brunswick Public Schools ' students each day that they attend school according to medical orders and upon request . Enhanced Nursing { 1 : 1 ) services will be provided on approved students only . In addition , the substitute ( RN ) nurses will be requested when in need of the absence school nurse . • Expertise in providing nursing care for students who have intensive medical needs such as but not limited to , oxygen , cleaning of tracheostomies , monitoring of seizures , medication administration , diabetes management , and any other specialized treatment regimen ordered by a medical health care provider . • Overall capacity to provide intensive nursing services and diverse medical needs to students with disabilities . • Provided nurse needs to attend at least one Professional Development training by New Brunswick Public School health services during the 2026 - 2027 school year at the expense of the respondent / vendor . Topic to be determined by the Head of Nurse or designee . • Comply with New Brunswick Board of Education nursing confidential and conduct policy FERPA and HIPAA guidelines . • Expertise in providing child health services for students , such as but not limited to student screenings { at minimum weight , height , vision , & hearing ) and health / wellness at various preschool locations and New Brunswick Public School locations . Equipment for screening should be provided by the nursing organization . • Provide nursing guidance , if necessary , pertaining to immunization , physical exams and other preschool student records areas .
