The Town of Cary is seeking one or more qualified firm ( s ) with which to contract for the following services : On - call traffic engineering services Cary is considering selecting one or more Consultant ( s ) for the On - Call Traffic Engineering Services program . The Consultant ( s ) selected are expected to provide timely responses to Cary staff for traffic engineering requests . Each task order may include , but not be limited to , site visit ( s ), briefings , surveys , geographic information systems ( GIS ) analysis , safety reviews , analyses , data collection , professional recommendations , and development of a study report with Computer Aided Drafting and Design ( CADD ) exhibits and / or GIS deliverables . Types of traffic engineering services Cary may expect to be provided by the Consultant ( s ) include the following : • Traffic Safety - Intersection and corridor safety analyses ( Road Safety Audits ) - Roadside Safety - Safe System Approach ( Vision Zero ) assessments , studies , recommendations • Intelligent Transportation Systems ( ITS ), Advanced Traffic Management Systems ( ATMS ), and Traffic Signals - Traffic signal , fiber cable routing and fiber splicing design - ATMS Networking ( i . e ., network configuration , IP Management , server maintenance and troubleshooting ) - ITS Solutions ( CCTV , advanced communication , V2I considerations ) - Traffic signal warrant analysis - Traffic signal timing optimization , coordination , and implementation - Emergency Vehicle Preemption ( EVP ) and / or Transit Signal Priority ( TSP ) analysis and implementation • Traffic Operations Analysis - Roadway and intersection capacity analysis ( micro and macro analysis , simulation , and modeling ) - Localized traffic impact study - School Operational Analysis • Traffic Management Analysis , Planning , and Design ( such as special event management plans ) • Parking Analysis , Planning , and Design • Traffic Calming Analysis and Design • Transportation Related Planning , Environmental , Design , and Construction Management • Traffic Control Plans • Signing and Pavement Marking Designs
