Description

Description

The Cape Fear Public Utility Authority is requesting proposals for the seasonal lease of five ( 5 ) reserve , 2 , 000 gallon , on - site non - highway diesel fuel tanks with an optional sixth ( 6th ) reserve , 2 , 000 gallon , on - site non - highway diesel fuel tank as listed in the table below in General Requirements . These are to be placed at ( 3 ) three different plants ( two plants will need two tanks ), and the optional tank will potentially be placed at a fourth ( 4th ) location , to give us sufficient coverage ; and to have reliable fuel sources for our generators . Seasonal being June 1st – November 30th . We reserve the right to extend these service dates , should the need arise , through mutual agreement with the Supplier . The Supplier ( also known as the Bidder ) of the tanks must have sufficient means and methods to provide the necessary fuels for the tanks , both in ordinary and in emergency situations . Emergency situation deliveries being defined as less than 24 hours ’ notice due to a declared event . The Supplier must be capable of pumping and delivering fuel from their terminal even if the local power utility ( Duke Progress Energy ) fails . The tanks delivered to our sites should have pumps capable of operating from both and AC - 120V and DC - 12V power sources . The Authority currently owns a fuel truck , not only as a reserve precaution , but also to use on daily basis to keep our multiple generator sites refueled . We test all our generators on regular intervals and therefore our need to refuel is never ending . In the attached questionnaire please indicate if your facility can accommodate the refueling of our fuel truck year around .
